If it was blown out of proportion, the national office probably realized this and wasn't going to send someone there just because it's the politically correct thing to do. They're allowing their members to learn from their own mistakes and deal with the situations themselves like adults which is part of what being in a fraternity or sorority is supposed to teach you.
