I suppose the straightedger should mention something here.

XXX is also used by people who are Straightedge. A *very* brief rundown of Straightedge. 1985- Minor Threat frontman Ian McKay writes a song called "Straightedge", with the words "I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't f**k, at least I can f***ing think." This set off a counter culture movement in the hardcore scene in which people don't drink, smoke, do drugs or engage in promiscuous sex. It became synonymous with veganism, but veganism/vegetarianism is up to the individual. The drinking, smoking, drugs thing is the most important. Straightedgers use X's on their hands as a way to identify eachother and as a way to signify their non-drinking status (x's were (are) used in bars to mark non drinkers). The three X's stand for no drinking, no smoking, no drugs. So it's just another connotation to think about.

Also, I've heard in some places, Straightedgers using "Sigma Chi Epsilon" *sXe* either as a real fraternity or as a crew name (don't worry about it). sXe is sort of short hand for Straightedge.

My first thought after reading the original post was that this was some kind of fake sorority for some website.....like "sorority house gone wild" or something like that . But from their website and from what some of the other posters wrote, it looks like they're an actual sorority. Kinda suprised.

They have good taste in mascots and flowers. Their mascot is the unicorn, and their flower is the iris kinda like another sorority I know...mine.

At homecoming two years ago? Last year? Anyhoo, not long ago, a float in the parade (actually, I think it was an old ambulance) had Tri-Chi on it.

Tri-Chi at Radford gets a pretty undeserved rep. The ones I knew were awesome.

Yep - Optimist is an alumnus, and I'm a current student at Radford - Tri-Chi is still very much on (well technically off) campus.

Yep, I've actually heard of Tri-Chi in regards to being a local at several universities...

OK, so XXX seems out of place for a Southern Baptist sorority.

But being from Arkansas, we do all kinds of odd things. Did you know there's a KKK at Harding University? (it's a Church of Christ University) To me that's just as odd as a triple X.

I am ROTFLMAO at this picture!!!

Click here. I'm not good at putting pictures in posts.

From a REDDIE alum (that means I went to the public university across the street from Ouachita Baptist, home of XXX)...this pose is just too funny. Maybe it's early or something....

I didn't know there was a KKK at Harding!! I thought all of their groups didn't have Greek letters or anything like that.

No - they let men (beaux/sweethearts/whatever) wear their letters and join in their events.

The official name of the social group at Harding is Tri Kappa, but they have some shirts with KKK on them (or they did several years back when I dated a guy who went there for a semester)

I always thoght Tri-Chi at OBU was hilarious. Come on you know they had to be thinking of that when they made of the "social club" ofcourse I don't know how old they are so I gues it's possible that didn't. If it was before the 50's I suppose it could have been over looked.

Hey Dixie, you wouldn't happen to be a former pageant contestant.
