I was quite a loner in high school. I had to move away from my friends. In ninth grade, I was so geeky and ugly that I didn't kave any friends. I wore those pink framed glasses becasue I broke out with my other glasses. Someone called me a band nerd. My aunt gave me a pep talk that those people are jealous and I was beautiful. I didn't believe at that time. Then, to make matters worst, in math class whenever we had to work in groups, I had to work by myself and the teacher didn't care! I wanted to tryout for cheerleading to gain popularity, but I couldn't. Now, there were people that started to approach me towards the end of the year. But it was too late for them, because I wanted to transfer to another school. I wanted to transfer to Bartlett High to be with my friends again, but I couldn't.
So I went to a city high school that is half black and half white. I made a few friends here and there. At the end of my sophmore year, I wanted to try out for cheerleading, but my grandmother was totally against the idea. So, no go for cheerleading. I was in several clubs,however (Softball Club, Beta Club, Jaycettes, newspaper, etc.).
Now, in my junior year, I would sit with a mixture of balck and white people. What pissed me off is that the black girls would talk about us because a white girl sit with me and 3 other black girls. It just goes to show you that there are ignorant people at high school that have less money than you and they are popular. Uggghhh... I hated high school.
In simplest terms, I wasn't really popular.
