However, American Blacks are not the source of U.S. crime. Poverty, more than anything, is the predicter of crime. This is what I think Bennett did not understand. The two are mutually exclusive- if they weren't rich American Blacks would be just as likely to commit crime as their poorer counterparts and that simply is not true.
I am disgusted that he sees a 1:1 ratio between being an AfAm and future likelihood of crime. That simply is not true, but because he is conditioned to believe that all AfAms are criminals he thinks it is.

It's not just poverty though. There are other factors such as education. Black-Americans tend to suffer from more of those problems than other races.
Either way, regardless of what you and I or anyone else may think:
1) It's a stupid statement to make given that he knows how politics works and should have anticipated a reaction like this.
2) Abortion is pretty loaded and regardless of race, a baby that has no concept of race isn't born.
