				Important Info about Founders' Day

			Hi Sisters,
I just received this information. Please join the rest of our sisters tomorrow in wearing your badge, a patriotic symbol (such as a red, white and blue ribbon), and your pink and green DZ ribbons in honor of our 99th Founders' Day and in remembrance of the 9/11 attacks. Please remember that all ribbons are worn underneath your badges, since nothing is suppose to be worn above it.

Letter from Karly Burns - National President

October 24, 2001 - LET THE DELTA ZETA CENTENNIAL YEAR BEGIN!

Ninety-nine years ago, in 1902, six young women at Miami University shared a
vision for a sisterhood that would grow and prosper for years to come. The
values and principles they set forth as a foundation for Delta Zeta Sorority
are as meaningful today as in 1902. Given the changing world and the
different roles women since that time, we constantly marvel at how vital the
founding beliefs remain to the basis and prosperity of our sisterhood. This
very fact is, indeed, a powerful tribute to the foresight of Alfa, Anna,
 Mabelle, Mary, Anne and Julia.

During the past weeks, our nation has been challenged more than any other
time in its history. Our sisterhood grieves foe the multitudes affected by
the tragedies. Our hearts are particularly with Delta Zetas involved and
affected by the horrific events. We have been brutally reminded of how
precious our country's freedoms are to us. These freedoms include the right
to be Delta Zetas. All of us will do our best to protect and defend these
 freedoms.

Our nation's leaders have urged us to return to normal life. Normal life to
a Delta Zeta includes treasuring our sisters and embracing our founding
values. We will do this with great joy during our Centennial Year. Let us
join together with pride in wearing a patriotic emblem, our lamp of gold and
 our pink and green ribbons.

I hereby proclaim the twenty-fourth day of October in the year of our Lord
two thousand and one as Founders Day.

 Karly K. Burns
 National President
