Asking for help as usual

Ok here's the deal.....we are doing a western themed recruitment and our VP Recruitment ask me to find/write a skit for it, but I kinda thought it was hard to find a skit for a western theme but I was wondering if any of your chapters did anything like this or if you had any ideas you could throw in. OR if you guys had any really cute skits you would wanna throw out there (preferably PM me), even if they are not western related.
I really just want to do something really cute, that can get the chapter involved and gets the PMNs attention.
I'm sorry I'm always asking for something on here haha!!
But I really appreciate it!!!
LITB, Kayla

All of DG's skits are online in the Anchored area (look under collegiate manuals in the Recruitment Confidential. I think that's where they are). Check there to see if there is a western one.

I just checked...they have a western skit...just contact eo for a copy of it. I'm sure they'll be glad to e-mail it to you.

No offense..but some of the skits off nationals website are quite cheesy--except for dgs in the city. Maybe something like DG rodeo? Or maybe even like Little House on the Praire (not sure if you have a house but...Little house on Sorority Row)....Brainstorm and use your crew if you have one. Our best skit was written on 2 hours of sleep at 2am! Skit night is my fav..if you need anymore help PM me!

I agree!

I agree...all of those skits are very corny that are online. We tried the DGs in the City one last year...and our entire house hated doing it. It's hard to find people with good skits, because when we email the DG Recruitment list on yahoo, looking for other chapters to share their good skits with us, we can garuntee that we'll get a reply back from one of the gals at EO about checking out the online skits. EO seriously needs to think about revamping those that are online.

I think if you do take a skit off the websites you need to change some parts of it. We changed alot of DGs in the City--because most of it was cheesy. The only one I've looked at that seems boarderline cheesy and somewhat tweakable is that DG Idol. They have a song thats remixed from Baby Got Back that is hysterical. Sometimes its better to get an idea for something from those skits and re-write your own. We did that with our Gilligans Island skit and its real cute. I think what it comes down to is finding the really creative people in your chapter and ask them to help. I'm pretty creative so I usually end up doing all that stuff. I hear alot of chapters are doing "Broadway" nights..where they take popular songs and just remix them. You can use that with anything.

Ok I went and looked at the DG Idol and I think I can do something with it. So since our theme is western I kinda thought I might be able to chage the songs to western themed songs and pretend it is Western Night for DG Idol. Like still use Sweet Home DG and then add new lyrics to These boots were made for walkin' and try to find a couple other songs.....do you guys think that would work??? Also if you guys can think if any other songs that would go along with that let me know.
Ok another thing....how do you make Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell??? haha I mean we dont really have girls that could dress up like them.
And number three if i didn't change it there were two songs on there that didn't have the lyrics: DG's are a girls best friend and In Da House....where could i find them.
If anyone has done this skit or know anyone who has please let me know..I would appreciate it!!
Thanks so much girls for your help!!!

Under the song lyrics page of the national website theres a shania twain song that already has lyrics made up. Another suggestion is Gretchen Wilson's I'm a redneck woman..maybe I'm a deegee woman??

Man, I feel like a DG (Shania Twain)

We're going out tonight, we're feeling alright
Gonna let it all hang out
Wanna make some noise, even meet some boys
Yeah we're gonna have some fun

Ah

No inhibitions, making your decision
DG's gonna be the right one
We don't need to act; DG's the best, its fact
You're gonna have a good time

The best thing about being a DG
Is the prerogative to have a 'lil fun

Whoa, oh, oh, oh, being wild yeah doing it in style…

Whoa, oh, oh, oh, get in the action, feel the attraction
Choose the best, forget the rest

Whoa, oh, oh, oh wanna be a Dee Gee
Feel the way we feel

Man I feel like a Dee Gee!

advice on Idol

One of the other chapters on our campus did an American Idol-based skit three years ago. It was not a hit with PNMs because they didn't like seeing the members insult other members, even in the roles of "Randy" and "Simon".

ITB,
Angie

Skit help

Hey guys - us "gals at EO" would love to revamp the skits online. We can only provide skits that chapters send us, as we don't have the ability ($ or time or creativitiy!!!) to write any new ones. And you guys are more up on what the pnms are going to like.

If you want new skits we need your help! Send them to vpmembership@deltagamma.org and we'll try to get some new ones posted for you.

Thanks!
