I, like Pretty, am chronically late. Sometimes, I am embarssingly late to events--especially when I'd planned on being on time (which trust me, is a frustrating to me as it is to those who are looking for my arrival). Oddly enough, I am also frustrated on those rare times I'm on time (or Heaven forbid, even early) and others are late.
It's an illness, and I need professional help!
Seriously, though, most of my friends know to give me a different time than they give to everyone else, or they anticipate that I will be 30 minutes -2 hours late to a social event. When I am among the first to arrive, everyone is shocked! And best, yet, they also await to hear the "tragic" story I will tell about why I'm late (bad traffic, lost my keys, someone called about a job just as I was leaving the house; my dog ran away...the list is endless)
--but it always true though!!!
