Elderly woman accused of shooting husband over alleged affair and a possible sexually transmitted disease.

AUBURN, W.Va. (AP) -
A 73-year-old Ritchie County woman has been accused of shooting her 69-year-old husband because she believed he contracted a venereal disease while having an affair with a neighbor.
State Police say the victim, Hallie Hardbarger of Auburn, was treated for a V-D a few weeks ago. Tuesday, Hardbarger was shot once in the abdomen with a .22-caliber rifle and is listed in critical condition at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg. His wife, Mollie Hardbarger, has been charged with malicious wounding.
Mollie Hardbarger complained of chest pains after she was arrested and also was taken to the hospital. She is North Central Regional Jail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week.
