Well, will there always be differences between Greek Governing Confrences or ruling Bodies. Hell Yes, no one wants to give up control.

There have been Members of IFC to tell them to stick it. Now, there seems to be Members of NHPC that joined IFC.

Maybe, just maybe, that should tell all of us something about Joining as a Total!

Guys against the girls!

Maybe it is time for all of us to get together?

Oh, by the way, LXA has always been a Big Supporter of NIC, NPC, NHPC ETAL! Have had a Major Officer on the Board. But, if they dont realize what is going on, what the H diff does it make?

Corps of anytime lose sight!

Step up to the mike. The floor is yours
bringing up nonsensical basura in order slyly downgrade NPHC organizations is what an intellectual conversation is NOT. sticking to the topic at hand is more on lines of that.

that fact that you're stuck on stupid regarding how "elitist", "alienating", and "arrogant" the D9'ers are shows that you can't contribute as to how a tenth organization can join the NPHC. you want an intellectual debate? stick to the one at hand.

that line of thinking, and subsequent posts shows that you're an over-emotional simpleton who's only goal on this board is to hang from the jock-strap of NPHC orgs and look for arguments in order to put down vs. looking for solutions.

In other words, their exposure as far as how well known they are as an org is limited to the region they primarily exist in. For instance, here is a list of orgs and the primary region they serve:

Phi Eta Psi - Midwest, primarily in Michigan
Phi Delta Psi - Midwest
Phi Omicron Psi - Eastern seaboard (MD/DC area)
Phi Alpha Psi - Eastern seaboard (MD/DC area)
Beta Phi Pi - Midwest
Phi Rho Eta - Midwest, primarily in Illinois
Delta Psi Chi - Midwest, primarily in Wisconsin
Gamma Phi Eta - South, primarily in Georgia (assuming they still exist)
Xi Gamma Phi - South, primarily in Georgia (assuming they still exist)

Note that I am focused on those orgs that were founded prior to 2000.

The only non-NPHC org whose chapters covers a more broader area scope is Gamma Phi Delta. Unfortunately, I don't know to what magnitude, since it appears their website only lists currently active chapters and it looks like a lot of their undergraduate chapters are inactive.

Note that while G Phi D has chapters in multiple regions, there are no chapters in the Mid Atlantic (NY/NJ area), New England, and Rocky Mountain/Great Plains states. But I am sure that as time goes on, those areas will be covered as well.

Hope this helps.
So, in the end, this topic comes down to what we stated pages ago.

We should maintain separate councils. If we are to FORMALLY come together (though I don't see the point in that) there should be an additional council formed.

I see a big problem with eliminating the NPHC and allowing ourselves to be outnumbered (and maybe even overpowered) in a unified council by the plethora of IFC and NPC organizations.

Just to throw another light on the subject. I do not consider the NPHC to be a governing or ruling body. Each member is autonomous in its own governance.

I see the NPHC more as a coordinating body--for local affiliates, a way to work together to make sure activities and events don't conflict, and nationally to provide a vehicle for the national presidents of the D9 and represntatives from local pans hells to discuss mutual issues and sometimes issue joint statements.

We don't even have a local pan hell --collegiate nor alumnae here.

Well, no one can say I didn't at least try to offer a peaceful solution to all this brouhaha.

Starang, since you obviously can't have a discussion with me without having to resort to personal insults, I'm gonna just say this:

You don't like what I have to say in my posts? TOUGH!!

That's your problem, not mine.

Simpleton that, Jack!

naw, i really don't care about your posts. i'm posting my comments about them because i can. they're irrelevant and insignificant, most of the time to the actual topic at hand because they always fall back down the same path.

"NPHC'ers are so arrogant and so elitist!! i wish they would just shut up and go away!! they shouldn't be so secretive and so guarded about their own!! they're such jerks."

remind you of anyone?

i gave you an example of an intellectual discourse. sticking to the topic and not diverging is a good start, junior birdman.

Anyway, see for yourself, and take it for what you will:

University of Illinois Black Greek Council

I am familiar with BGCs since I attended a university that had one. Our non-NPHC group was Beta Phi Pi. They are no longer at the university and I don't think they can ever come back.

Most universities will throw us together to cut back on how much money they have to give councils. They'd rather have 3 councils than 4 or 5.

So true. A part of me wonders if it will ever take on a bigger role in our organizations?

Chaos, sometimes the "fun" of the debate is in the actual debating, not so much in the resolution of any given issue.

Just like when we travel, half the fun of the travel is the traveling, not necessarily in the reaching of our destination.

I had fun on this debate, believe it or not, because I like to debate. I hope everyone else can say the same thing.

How silly.

The point of debating on relevant topics, in which you are NOT trying to just mess with people, is using logic to avoid circular dialogue. If all you wanted to do is vent, bash, and eventually use extra words to repeat everything we said, then you are special. I don't mind a moot debate or argument but don't do that under the guise of "objectively" and intellectually approaching a topic.
