Totally agree on the paying attention during skit. I had a small part in one skit and a primary job of mine was to watch girls' reactions. There were those who were laughing and singing along and having a great time and then this one little YKW who was rolling her eyes the whole time and I read her lips as she leaned over to the girl next to her and said, "This is soooo stupid." You can guess how I felt about each.

I also agree with don't gush but DO still look and sound interested in what they are about. I never thought it was weird for a rushee to say, "I have really enjoyed your parties" or something along those lines. Compliment without seeming overly excited or enthusiastic about being there, because that can get weird. Ask good questions like what do they like most about their sorority and relate their answer to yourself. When doing recruitment workshops we have this thing called find a need fill a need. You find what it is the person is looking for and relate to them how your sorority can fill it. Do the same. So like ADPi is super involved with the Ronald McDonald House. You could say (if it's TRUE!!) that you like doing volunteer work and love children, or that you used to work with underpriviledged families back home, etc. See what I mean? GOOD LUCK! And GO PEPPERANN!!!!!
