Former Miami Commissioner Arthur E. Teele Jr. walked into the lobby of The Miami Herald building Wednesday evening and shot himself in the head.

Teele, once one of Miami-Dade's most influential politicians who once ran unsuccessfully for County Mayor, was recently indicted on federal charges of fraud & money laundering.

Last year there was a similar deal in Pensacola - prominent black politician gets caught with hand in cookie jar, and commits suicide (this guy crawled under a reantal house, and the body wasn't found for months.)

This is really a time for a changing role for reporters, with a bunch of them getting in trouble for plagarism, and stricter policies on anonymous sources. At GA's biggest newspaper, a NASCAR reporter was fired for plagarism.
