Well, the inhaler isn't going to cure the infection. Inhalers are to just open up your airways and bronchi . . . not to cure infections. The doctor should have prescribed medicine to treat the infection. Like I said, the inhaler is only to help you breathe while you're taking the other medicine for the infection.

I have asthma that's how I know this. I had a moron doctor one time that just told me to take prednisone and an inhaler to get rid of my bronchitis. I felt like saying bronchitis is an infection you idiot, but being the nice person I am, I didn't.
I had severe bronchitis that put me in the ER a few times this past winter. (yeah try having THAT in 20 degree weather!) They gave me everything, but finally I went to a different hospital and they gave me a breathing treatment while I was there, and then a prescription for prednison, Benadryl, and albuterol. I was cured like 2 weeks later.

I have those same breathing problems and I do make myself yawn. It feels like I just can't get enough air in my system. I think it's just allergies but it helps to get more tests done.
