Don't be "above the chapter" you are a part of it. I have seen cases before where officers get big heads and feel as though they are above the chapter and the chapter rules...This just makes everyone loose respect for them and the chapter.

When the next round of elections come, don't take an EC position. Instead, nominate and elect pushovers. Persuade them on doing what you want them to do. And if something goes down all the blame will fall on them and not you. Being an officer can make you hated, don't take the heat!
I'm so joking, lol.

Holding three positions currently the best thing to do are the following:
1) Never be afraid to ask for help when you need it or are overworked
2) Talk to your advisors. They have a lot of experience and are always willing to help you make the best of things.
3) Officers manuals are really useful. We have some and they really help out a lot.
4) If on Exec. listen to the other member. Not only the ones with ones that have offices but all members. They all may have some really good idea.
5) Weekly councils meeting.
6) Weekly chapter meeting.
7) Have a tentative calender for the whole sememster and pass them out during the first meeting. This way the girls will always know when events are and can have enough time to get off of work if possible.
There are so many things that an officer should attempt to do to help things run smoothly but these are just a few suggestions.

1 - get an active adult advisor. EVERY (yes EVERY) good chapter has an active advisor.
2 - surprisingly, the Zeta Psi natl. GLO web site has lots of good officers manuals on line.
3 - budget. It's not fair to next year's chapter if this year's chapter parties and leaves bills for next year to pay.
4 - The biggest benefit of fraternity life is the Opportunity to Fail (and hopefully learn from it). There's no other campus organization where undergrads can operate a house, a dining hall, a hotel sleeping 40 people, etc.

3. Listen to your sisters....They may have a different outlook that could help
4. Watch other chapters....They maybe doing something/going through the same things you are
5. Keep an open mind
6. ALWAYS AS FOR HELP don't think you have to do everything yourself....You will get burned out
7. Don't be a push over
8. Stay organized
9. Don't make sisters your enemy in the end each person makes up the sister hood and without them or there respect nothing will happen
10. Have committees and utilize them it will help tremendously to keep all the pressure off the E-board
