I'm not sure its fair to say that the viruses "come from" the ISP. In my case, I am sure my computer illiterate DH was responsible for these on our PC. Since he's been using it, I now get 50+ spams a day. (oh, and he was using my email account, too) I'm sure some of these enticing subject lines were too much to pass up - so he'd *open* the spam and allow the virus is. When I asked him about it, I get a very defensive, "I don't know what I opened or not!" That's all I needed to hear to confirm my suspicions. Oh, well. I bought latest Norton and it found 'em and got rid of 'em. I didn't have an *updated* version of Norton; it was years old version...
That's good to know. The thing is I've had a cable modem before and never had these problems...but I was using it through a wireless router so there is a difference because now I'm plugged directly into it. Either way I LOVE Norton for getting rid of my viruses...regardless of how they got on the computer!
