I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but, I found the book to promote superficiality. I also saw one of the authors on BET. She was a fairly attractive cinnamon-skinned sister who, acted as if she didn't want to be cinnamon-skinned. Pathetic.
Yes---I know educated people are more articulate and well-spoken than common folk, but she was way too pretentious.
I don't know maybe it is because I am Ivy-League and don't mind "keepin' it real" with my people. Go figure!
