Support Law Enforcement

I did a search but couldn't find a thread about this.
Someone sent this to me, and it seems like a good idea.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is trying to get 25,000 signatures to get Congress to make a recommendation to the Postmaster General that a commemorative stamp be issued to honor LEOs killed in the line of duty.

They are doing pretty well. They have 22,406 as of this post, so they are really close.

If you are interested in signing the online petition, here is the link.

I personally like spending the extra money for a "charity" stamp. I am using the "Stop Family Violence" ones currently.

I am fully in support of this. It's funny you brought this up as a matter of fact b/c I live in California & my local news has been inundated with information about a Sheriff being gunned down while responding to a house call. He knocked on the door & was apparently ambushed & killed by some bastard coward. This especially hits close to home b/c my work is the elementary school down the street from where he was murdered. I really wish people would have more respect for the Police and the work they do.
F.Y.I. This Sheriff was recently married 3 weeks ago & leaves behind a 16 year old son & a 3 year old one.

I thin we respect the police that merit it, but we reserve the right not to give a blanket approval to everyone.

Not All Law Enforcement People or good!

I helped one get butted off of the PD when I was there and damn proud of it! I Broke in one who turned out bad!

But, the Majority are more than willing to give their lives for us.

Kansas Highway Trooper was leading a Group of Motorcycle Riders from Topeka Ks to the State Line to be picked up by KCMO Wheel units.

He was clipped and had a wreck. Flown to a Hospital for surgery.

My Best Friend is a KCK PD Officer and volunteered His time Sat and Sun. for eight hours each day to do Security for the Viet Nam Wall.

I was and still do know many Officers who put their lives on the line dailey as I did. Unsung Heros for sure.

It is just their JOBs!

Bookem told Me today that a Nam Vet asked if He fought? No, I was a COP. Vet told Him, Thank You, You are fighting a war today!

Give Credit where credit is due.
