1. College or University
Baylor University -- Sic Em Bears!
2. ADPi Chapter
Zeta Chi!!!
3. Collegian or Alumnae
Collegian
4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held
Last year I was the VP of Finance and this year, President
5. Why you joined ADPi
My freshman year at Baylor was not very fun. I made good grades, but I didn't have very many friends and I was kinda lonely. My dad was a founding brother of the Pikes at Baylor, and he told me that I needed to rush a sorority because he loved Pi Kappa Alpha and he knew I would love being in a sorority, too. I wasn't sure about it, but my RA at the time was an ADPi and she was really the only person I knew who was in a sorority, but she was very nice and so I thought it couldn't hurt. I had so much on my mind during the recruitment parties that I lost track of time and ended up getting to the ADPi Skit Day party about two minutes LATE!!!!! I thought, that's it, it's over for me, so much for being in a sorority. I fully expected the girls to be rude to me. Turns out I couldn't have been more wrong. I apologized to the girl that brought me into the party, and she laughed and told me not to worry about it and said that the sisters called being late "being on pi time." My RA walked up to me during the party to say hi--turns out she was the President-elect! I never felt more at ease. The girls were genuine and down to earth. Nothing was a competition with them and I felt like they accepted me for who I am. ADPi has been the best thing that has ever happened to me.
6. Favorite ADPi memory
There are sooo many, but I'd have to say that when my little sister, Mallory, decided to join ADPi at Baylor was one of the happiest days of my life. Since I'm President this year and she was an Alpha, I had to conduct the Initiation ceremony for her Alpha class. It was really hard to keep my voice steady and my eyes dry. Sometimes I still get emotional when I'm opening the chapter business meeting with ritual and we're looking at each other as we recite.
Also, last summer I went with two of my ADPi sisters Kristina and Sarah, and my little sister to Oxford as part of a study abroad trip at Baylor called Baylor in Oxford. It has been a year and I still think about how much fun we had in London and Paris and Edinburgh and Oxford!
Pi love!
Leslie

Welcome to the board, Leslie! We're glad to have you (and how wonderful to be able to share your sisterhood with your sister - that's awesome!)
Are you going to be at Convention next week as the chapter delegate for Zeta Chi?

I've actually posted on the general chat a few times, but I felt maybe it was time to wander over here and introduce myself...
1. University of Texas (in Austin)
2. Delta
3. Collegian
4. So far, just area head
5. I actually didn't go through formal recruitment. I refused to because for certain reasons that won't be brought up because I would have had to go to a certain sorority and I really, really didn't like the particular chapter. I was going through COR in the spring with a couple of sororities here when I randomly ran into a girl I'd known from the summer who invited me to a dinner at the house, and from the moment I walked into the house everyone made me feel welcome. All the girls came up to talk to me and introduce themselves and made it evident that they actually wanted me to be their sister, as opposed to the others which made it seem like they just needed another body to meet quota and pay dues.
6. My pledge class was tiny as the first and last spring class. We had 13 compared to the 50 that had (and still do) come in in the fall, so it was amazing getting to know every single girl and actually spend time with them. After initiation when they finally lead us into the dining room and all our parents were there was one of the greatest feelings in the world. It was amazing to be able to share that experience with my new sisters and my parents.

1. College or University
Brenau University
2. ADPi Chapter
Lambda
3. Collegian or Alumnae
Collegian
4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held
none yet! i just got initiated on 4/29/05
5. Why you joined ADPi
i DID NOT want to be in a sorority during rush. As the year went on, greek life just looked more and more intriguing. My best friend went ADPi, so i would go over to the house with her a lot. I fell in love with so many of the girls, and i loved everything about it. Then when i saw the way they acted on campus, i realized it was where i belonged. so an opening became available, and i was open bidded into ADPi!! And it was the greatest day of my freshman year!!!!!!
6. Favorite ADPi memory
So far has gotta be initiation! i just thought it was the coolest thing ever..! I am sure there are millions of favorite memories to come, though!

1. Miami University (OH)
2. Eta Epsilon
3. Collegian
4. None yet, I was just initiated this spring!
5. To me ADPi embodied all that a sorority should: sisterhood, loyalty, scholarship, philanthropy, fun!
6. I haven't had too many memories yet. But, I loved pref round, initiation and spring formal! Also, Spring Clean Oxford was a fun one.
