Chris and his 10 brothers and sisters (Samoans are notorious for big familias) used to live in a 2 bedroom apartment 2 doors down from us in the glorious Kalihi-Palama neighborhood. Despite living in a shitty part of Honolulu, Chris went on to the NFL and ended up marrying my classmate Adriana, his sister was a W. Volleyball All-American at Nebraska, and one of his brothers (I think he had 6) heads the Police Union.
I've heard "Fuamatu-Maafala" pronounced so many different ways it's funny. You'd think sportscasters would be used to saying Samoan/Tongan/whatever Polynesian names by now.

The radio station I listen to in the morning used to have a contest "Who, Moo, or Fu?" and you had to pronounce Fuamatu-Maafala "correctly" (as in Deck The Halls) to get the Fu prize!
