I'm confident I know what Cheerleading is, so what is Dance Team? Is that more what NBA "cheerleaders" do at half-time (for example, the Laker Girls?)

Cheerleading-Cheers, lots of jumps, clapping, and usually with no music.
Dance-Mostly dancing with music.
