I agree. I think that would be way better.
Maybe if they made it more of a reality tv show it could work. Like if it was more than look-pretty-and-sing-for-the-crowd.. but in addition to that put them all in a house and videotape every word that is said... every tantrum that is thrown... almost MTV-Real-World-ish... that way we can see their real personalities and take that into account when voting...
