Michael Jackson is really a master at this kind of thing.
Salon.com did an article a while back on how Michael has always played up his "weirdness" for publicity's sake. Some of the people quoted in the article even speculated that he had manufactured the child molestation charges for the attention. I'm not sure I buy it, but it's an interesting premise.

Either way he's cracked -- either he's molesting kids, or he's telling people he's molesting kids for attention. Neither one is normal.
That said, I have some major misgivings about the parents of this kid. They're perfectly happy to let him hang out with a man who's been accused of sexual molestation because he's giving them lots of expensive stuff for free? That's not exactly normal behavior either.
