People keep asking about the "underground" fraternities...well let me clarify that really there was only one...at least only one that caused problems. And that would be Chi Tau.

I don't think Chi Tau will be a problem ever again. After Matthew's death, all but 2 of the members were evicted from the house. The windows are all boarded up and construction has already begun to remodel that house. (i wish i had a picture to show you how disgusting this house is.)

Reasons why Chi Tau was still around:
1) huge house with greek letters for parties. freshman came flocking to these.
2) alumni support from their Delta Sig alum. they owned the house and pretty much controlled the chapter. Chi Tau was, for a short while, trying to get back on IFC and gain national recognition. Its safe to say that will never happen.

Both of these things are gone now. No more "fraternity" house, alum will never support them again for what has happened. so no more renegade "frat".

Other than this, there are no underground groups right now. I am slightly worried that some may turn renegade, but in all honesty there is just no place for something like that in Chico. They wouldn't have the means to support themselves...it mostly has to do with living in a house but if thats gone then there usually isnt a problem. Key word being usually.

my 2 cents
