Plus here is an update on how we did in the Safeplace Walk!
On April 16, 2005, the Austin Traditional Alum Group and the Austin Ivy Connection participated in our second joint philanthropy project --- the 18th Annual SafePlace Walk for Safe Families & Safe Streets. Seven sisters participated in the Walk and raised $1,925.63 --- well over our fundraising goal!!
Thank you so much to all of our sisters who joined in. We had a wonderful time spending the morning together and supporting a WONDERFUL cause. We plan to form another team next year --- and hope you can join us in 2006.
P.S. The Walk is SafePlace’s largest annual fundraiser. Our donations for the SafePlace Walk makes a difference right here in the Austin community to women, children, and men devastated by abuse as they struggle to rebuild their shattered lives. They could not do this important work, much less do it well, without the consistent and generous support of their friends in the community. (SafePlace is the merger of the Center for Battered Women and Austin Rape Crisis Center.)
