I got my big today!!!

sorry guys I couldnt help but share! she is an amazing girl!

the game we played was really cute, All the NM were downstairs and our pledge mom distributed T-shirts to us and our shirt played off our bigs shirt, so after they were all given out they let us loose and we had to find our bigs who were hiding upstairs in the house! very very fun!

ANYWAYS... Congratulations on getting your big! I'm taking my first little this semester so I'm super excited too. Our revealment is a little different. We give presents all week before hand with little notes giving clues to who we are. Usually the clues are complete lies just to trick the NM's. On the night of revealment there are no presents in the suite, just a piece of paper with a license plate number on it. The girls run out to the parking garage where we're all waiting and singing. You have to find the car with the plate number you got and that's your big's car! Last year a lot of bigs tricked their littles and were in other peoples' cars and it was pretty funny. I think I'm tricking my little this year because I know who she thinks her big is and that girl has a recognizable car. Revelation is a ton of fun and the littles get all their other presents including a shirt and whatever else we haven't gotten to give them yet. I can't wait to get my little and surprise her!

Wow, that is super creative - I really like it! And tricking your littles is so much fun

My chapter just did the candlelight that a lot of other groups do - your big blows out your candle, but of course other girls act like they're going to blow it out but don't. There was one girl whose candle wouldn't stay lit so it was a running joke that half the sisters were her big!

We left clues for our little sisters when I was in college. I never lied in them. I used clues like:

I once was in the circus.
I have one brother and lots of sisters. (Yeah, a bit lame, but true!)
etc.

I think that's awesome. My NM class there was just two of us, and they tangled up string and we had to untie it to find out who our big was.

With 2 people it probably wasn't the best thing they could have done...esp because we both knew who we were getting anyway.

My favorite was what I did the following year as NME, I had all the bigs prepare bags and the NM had to guess by what was in the bag who they thought their big was and why. It was always amusing because I wouldn't let anyone but in anything that was obvious (like I wouldn't have been able to put in buttons).

I "got a lil" this year. We don't have a whole process, just reveal during/after the pledging (MIT?) ceremony. (I hope thats not secret ritual, please let me know sisters!) I gave mine a lil wooden heart shaped box that I painted with red (one of SAI's colors) and then drew some stuff on it, with stickers spelling out her name. Ohhh, and it had jolly ranchers and tootsie rolls in it

Apparently she loves trinket boxes, I didn't even know.

we do everything the same as the car / license plate reveal UP to that point.. giving littles presents and trying to trick them with clues, then we have a really nice ceremony where at they end they turn to find out who their big is. I just got my little a few weeks ago and I LOOOVE her.

Aww I just saw this for the first time today. I love families! We just had our Big Sis revealing. I'm the Matriarch of my family (I'm a senior), and I just got a new grand little and a new great grand little! (I have three littles, so my family is huuuuuuge)

Anyway, DZ Jess, your shirts are so cute.
