BLACKBALL

From: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=18307

CS: Are you ready to pledge Grad Chapter now?
Short: I want to pledge Alpha Phi Alpha.

CS: Why?
Short: Hanging out with all of them, not only the producers - the producers were Alpha - but hanging out with all of them, I kind of got the feel of where you would fit, where one would fit. The Q's are big guys, they're football players, huge; the Kappa's are the pretty boys, with the canes. But the Kappa's are smooth.

I supported this movie throughout the WHOLE controversy until just this moment.

Senusret, don't judge Columbus too harshly. He just seems to have been caught up in the moment.

Off topic, I didn't realize that Morris Brown was pretty much closed. I knew that they were having troubles but wow.

He's been caught up in the moment too long. He also worked on that horrible sequel to Save the Last Dance. It's not like that movie really needed a sequel in the first place. On top of that, the original characters and plot all but vanished and the cool serious stuff was watered down. I'm sorry, but movies about dancing are getting really tired, really quick.

I don't hate the guy, just his artistic visions.

I got that from some other "Stomp" TV interviews. He cracked me up because he seemed "too excited."

The whole interview is .

What happened to the money Morris Brown received from this and Drumline? The AME Church needs to investigate!

I am on the first interview and I wished these people knew the proper use of apostrophes. To make a word plural does not require an apostrophes. Deltas not Delta's.

And for goodness sakes, learn how to spell Spelman.

This interview kind of sickened me. I don't even want to read the 2nd one.

The school had significant debt and I don't think that the location fees charged for either movie could begin to scratch the surface.

Morris Brown was pretty bad off.

http://www.ajc.com/search/content/sh..._0104_COX.html

It is a shame about Morris Brown, but I think the Atlanta University Center in general is doing well.

Perhaps the film money went to the Center in general.

This is just an attempt to allow NPHC members to brag on their groups: I'm not putting any group down:

Often I am amazed at how many leaders and racial pioneers were members of Alpha Phi Alpha. As far as I know, DuBois, King, Marshall, and (I think) one of my personal heroes, Hamilton Holmes were all Alpha Phi Alpha members. It's like a master list of 20th century leadership, and it's kind of awe inspiring.

Delta Sigma Theta often seems the same way for women's groups, with some Alpha Kappa Alpha members in the spotlight too.

I suspect that other groups are represented just as well, but I'm ignorant of the members who were in other groups.

Please educate me: Who are the members of your groups of whom you are most proud?

Again, I'm not trying to slight the other groups. I just want to know my history better.

It's a still a good movie. But the CS questioning perfectly led up to Short's "dumb moment."
