Cool

Congratulations to both Organizations.

Not trying to be snide so Please dont take it that way.

What makes us different from other Christian fraternities/sororities? Or greek orgs in general?

I would venture to say that we are very similar to the other christian organizations that I have met or seen. Some things that may be abit a different just because of the various personalities of our founder. Our focus and mission is not only about the women within the organization but being a voice and outlet for saved women across the campus with our events and giving those who do not know Christ more of an opportunity to learn about Him on campus.

One of the problems that we ran into researching orgs is that many of the orgs are on the coast and in the south. This was a problem when trying to get established in the midwest. After much prayer and almost 2 years, God enabled us to bring Beta Sigma Chi to our area.

Prayfully, all of the Christian organization have the same focus. To have a sisterhood/brotherhood of Christian fellowship on thier campus, for people who are fully committed to following Christ while getting their education (undergrad) and are willing to be a support to each other while offering an alternative for Christians than the average college atmosphere.

Wouldn't all of you have a greater success if you all joined together into one large national organization?

In theory that may seem like a good idea. But orgs are ran by different rules and guidelines, different visions, ideas and paths. It is no different than having many different NPC, NPHC, or IFC orgs. Most of the orgs in those councils have the same purpose whether it be social or service. If you look at the NPHC orgs, one might assume that they would be more powerful and effective as one great big fraternity or sorority, but in actuality each are a little different in their own right.

What works for one set of Christian sororities may not be right for another on that campus. I think that it is good and healthy for Christians to have choices too. Though we are different, we are not in competition and we are going to work together for the good which is God.

I also agree that there shouldn't be just one of any type organization but it seems like it would be counter productive if there is a new organization popping up every month that has similar mission and goals as twenty other organizations that were founded. It's kind of funny that not only are there a large amount of new sororities forming but they are all trying to expand. It seems like more people should band together to make an existing organization better instead of creating a new one. I'm not just talking about christian orgs but sororities in general.

But if God gave the founders of your organization that vision to start a new one, no one can really agrue with that...

The biggest problem is that because most of the Christian organizations are newer, the process of colonizing is too slow or too disorganized. Many times its just easier for interests to start their own. I have faith however, that all of the Christians organizations will come together under some type of umbrella organization soon.

I agree with not making one org. but you may have to start your own council [i.e. National Christian Council..etc..] to rep some unity..what do you think?

Thats a good idea, its just gonna take time to implement, because many of the Christian orgs founders are either still in college or very shortly removed so there aren't to many national heads to go through.

Thumbs up

Wow Vital Obedience, congrats! You all look like you really have your stuff together! It is always nice to see that needs are being met through new Christian Sororities and Fraternities.

I do agree however, that more research should be done before starting new organizations because there are so many CGLOs out there now that you find many with the same name, same color and in some cases very similar mission statements (purpose).

BluBlaZon, you are right on point with us having a council. As a member of Alpha Nu Omega Inc., I truly believe that having a council will create a sense of order among other CGLOs and a place where individual organizations can go for guidance.

By the way, Vital Obedience if you are interested, there is a CGLO message board where they discuss issues such as a CGLO council http://cfsmsgboard.proboards77.com. Keep up the good work!

Many blessing

That may work if for smaller organizations who are starting up, but there has been some orgs that have been around since the late 80's and early 90's

This too is very true, but if a council is something that your heart desires and you know God is urging you to get it done you will have to make the time..
