Question Questions

Good afternoon ladies! I am completely new the the greek system, so new in fact that I am not a member. I plan to attend Ole Miss at Oxford next fall and I was wondering what greek life was like. I have attended a local college since I graduated high school but never attended rush. I may be a little old for soroity life but I would love the sisterhood friendships that I have been hearing about while I am away from home and for a lifetime. Can someone please help me out? Chi Omega is the soroity that I find fits me most and I would love to be a member.

Julie:

I attended a Mid-western school myself. I have heard a great many stories about Ole Miss rush, though. I have heard it is very competitive. The best way to find out about different sororitites on any campus is to attend rush. However, bear in mind that at many of the larger Southern schools, getting a bid to any group becomes more and more difficult the less years of school you have left. If you have two quality women - one a freshman and one a junior - and you only have one spot left, very often the freshamn will get that spot so that they can have a 4 year contributor to the chapter. I'm not saying this is a rule, but it does happen.

There is a GC member, OleMissGlitter, who is an AOTT at Ole Miss. Perhaps send her a pm as she will have first hand info on the recruitment process.

Good luck!
