Chi Psi - great magazine articles
If you can get the new Chi Psi magazine at your dean's office or from a friend, it has a great article about how this long-time strong in the Northeast GLO, starting in 1963, has closed every Northeast chapter except Cornell - and most closings were forced by the campuses.
This interesting issue also tells about 18 alumni who gave them $2,500 or more last year (8 gave more than $10,000), new housing at South Carolina, and their Atlanta convention banquet - with everyone in a tux.

Not to mention they have a little royalty as well... Prince Albert Grimaldi of Monaco is a Chi Psi from the Amherst chapter.

That is super cool. Was he an active member, or an honorary member? Because as I have heard, some Catholic popes were also GLO members as well ... not that they went to a US school.
Hoosier, do you have a digital link to the stories? Since we don't have Chi Psi chapter at Iowa State, it is hard to acquire one for us ...
We also had the same problem in the past in the NorthEast, as many of GLO did. We still managed to have our active Charges at some prominent school, as Dartmouth, Cornell, Tufts, MIT and Brown, but we also lost many Charges as well

Just a question, our Chi Psi chapter is known as the "Lodge". I know there are also many other Chi Psi chapters who call themselved the Lodge. Are the two still affilated or was there a split and the chapters kept the greek letter but changed their local name?

It is illegal to keep a national GLO's letters when turning local, if they are copyrighted. I'm pretty sure that Chi Psi's are.

Lodge may just be a nickname for this Chi Psi chapter. Perhaps they have or had a lodge as their residence and now refer to themselves as "The Lodge".
And maybe this is something on the national level as well. That all Chi Psi residences (chapters?) are referred to as Lodges.

Just checked the Chi Psi web site.
"Be it the first fraternity house, or “Lodge”, built in Ann Arbor, Michigan by Brothers of Alpha Epsilon in 1846, or an extensive scholarship and fellowship program run by the first fraternal educational foundation founded in 1926,..."
http://www.chipsi.org/about/statement.html
A ramdom checking of Chi Psi Alpha's (chapters) web sites all refer to the chapter as Lodge.
For example.
"Thanks for stopping by the Lodge's home page at the University of Virginia. "

To follow up on TSteven, Chi Psi calls its chapters "Alphas" and its houses "lodges" (or "the Lodge"). The chapter may informally be called "the Lodge," as well.
