US Senator dies in plane crash

Regardless of your party affiliation or your geographic location, it's always sad when one of our elected officials dies tragically.

Senator Paul Wellstone, Democratic Senator from Minnesota, his wife, daughter, three campaign staffers and two pilots died in a plane crash today in Northeast Minnesota. Senator Wellstone was in a tight re-election campaign and was on his way (ironically) to a funeral, following a campaign event.
