Informal recruitment, no response
Hey everyone.
I ended up going through informal recruitment at my University. I wasn't planning on it, but a friend in the sorority personally contacted me and said she would love to see me sign up.
I actually was never contacted by the greek office, and found out that the other girls were contacted about all the houses holding informal along with the dates of the events. (I was supposed to be on the list but wasn't.. should this have been a red flag?) Also, I never was contacted about formal recruitment refunds, after the office told me they would do so. (And I was given incorrect information during formal recruitment by the people in charge.)
Anyways I've completely given up on being in greeklife as I did not get selected for informal. However, the house never bothered contacting me at all, after telling me they would let me know either way. Whats worse is I actually found out on facebook that everyone had already been contacted.
It bothers me that I took time out of my life to go through informal, then be neglected to be given a response. I wanted to know if this is normal for a NPC sorority. Should I contact someone to make sure other girls don't get put into the same hurtful position? If this is normal/common, then I'm not going to contact anyone and just let it go. Now, I'm simply curious.
***also, please don't quote this post. I will delete it after getting responses, as not to give away my school, hurt any friends in this house etc.
