Number of girls rushing at Florida State 2010?
Hi, obviously you can tell from my username that I am rushing at Florida State in about 6 days!
Anyone know how many other girls will be with me? I've heard everything from 1200 to 1500, but it all seems a little much..
Thanks!

usual is between 1200 and up. with a new chapter joining campus this year, there's a lot of interest and I can see numbers being higher as PNMs want to check out Alpha Phi.
2009 Recruitment started out with approx 1280, and quota was 57.

That's pretty normal for FSU.

Yeah I heard it was about 1350 or somewhere around that... pretty nerve-racking to be honest! I'm stressing over what to wear haha but I can't wait, good luck to you PNM AT FSU!
PS. yeah my friend is rushing just because she wants to move in early so I know how you feel.

there is no need to worry about the number of pnms rushing, not all those that have registered will even show up for the first party, and should all of those pnms who do actually attend the first set of parties, remain in recruitment, then quota will be set using that figure and theoretically everyone would have a chance to receive a bid.

Yes...Not surprising, unfortunately. Tropical storms and hurricanes seem to love to visit Tallahassee during recruitment week from what I hear. My daughter went through recruitment in 2008 during Tropical Storm Fay. She said everyone was soaking wet visiting from house to house. Definately be prepared with rain gear, not only during recruitment, but for the whole year.

the year i pledged we had a hurricane and the first day of class was delayed. we had to stay in our dorms-no electricity-it was a dreary, boring day.

If I can remember correctly, TS Fay caused Prefs to take place early in the morning on the same day Bids were given out. I sure hope the weather will be nice this year during recruitment.

wow, that must have been fun. dymonz4me, I read the recruitment story you put it, and all the other florida state ones and I am SO excited!! I'm heading up to gorgeous Tallahassee tomorrow.
By the way, any advice as to what I should bring. I hear they give out hand fans but Im thinking of bringing my own, umbrellas, blotting paper, a brush, a bit of makeup, anything I'm forgetting? Thanks

tampon, a couple of bandaids, little mirror, mints, writing pen, little notebook-unless you will receive one from panhellenic to make notes in after the parties.
if you have any new shoes, break them in before the day of the party you plan to wear them to. those hills are murder on your feet anyway, but in new shoes that are rubbing blisters they are pure misery. which brings to mind moleskin, which is great for preventing blisters-you can find it with the dr. scholl's display in the drug stores or the grocery stores.

Add to this some blotting sheets, lip gloss/chapstick (whichever you prefer) and a small comb if you'll be wearing your hair down. Also remember to bring some water!!! Good luck to you during recruitment!
