Do you really think that the best way to decide between 2 sororities is to ask strangers on the internet?

I mean, really?

This is a decision that YOU have to live with. Not us.

It would be like your bf posting on a message board asking strangers whether he should propose to you or not (or something equally idiotic).

I think you should care less about what random interwebz strangers think about either group and spend more time thinking about what YOU want.

There is no point in getting premature gray hairs over "which one to pick" because one or even both of them might not invite you back if you just started recruitment.

Recruitment is NOT a one way street. If you think it is, you were seriously misinformed.

Take the time to meet the ladies in the chapter, learn about all the groups - both locally & nationally - and take it from there.

My final decision won't have anything to do with greekchat.com--I was just curious as to how the different sororities were perceived across the country.

Perception depends on alot of things.

I mean, someone could have gone to a school where Kappa was the smallest chapter at the time, so they may perceive Kappa as weaker.

Someone else may have gone to a school where Phi Sig was the biggest and best and won all of the major awards, so their perception is going to be different.

Or some people live in an area overrun with Kappa chapters and perceive their national strength differently. Same with Phi Sig. If you're in an area that has a high concentration of Phi Sig chapters, you may perceive them as stronger than Kappa.

My point being is that the perceptions of others are all based on different things so it's impossible to get a really uniform answer as to how a sorority is perceived across the country.

Wish I would have QFP. If you didn't plan to base your decision on what ppl here said, then what is the point?

Your OP was basically "I just started recruitment and I love KKG and Phi Sig both! I can't decide which one to pick! What do YOU think!?!"

Hmmm, our recruitment started already. We have PSS and KKG on our campus, I secretly hope this person at my school, haha.

Wow..

You've posted your school and your real name is in your GC username. I guess it is best that you decided not to go through recruitment.

If anyone else reads this thread and was thinking the same thing...its not uncommon for girls to say "Well, what does everyone think of the sororities" or "which one is better?" I have heard this question a lot more than I expected to.

Honestly, its a chapter by chapter thing, its all dependent on the women in the organization. You have to meet them and then decide. Every school is different, every chapter is different. Be in the chapter you like because you like them, not because you think theyre respected nationally or something.
