Its funny how I came to support Obama. First, he blew me away with his 2004 Democratic Convention speech; I just instinctively knew that he was someone to watch. Once he announced his candidacy, I was intrigued but I thought it could never happen. When I found out about his wife (strong, intelligent, brown-skinned, professional, accomplished, etc.) I started looking at who he was and how he arrived at that point. But it was not until he won Iowa that I really gave him serious consideration as the Leader of the Free World. I read his bio Audacity of Hope and I have been a loyal fan ever since!
I take him seriously when he says that he will be the president of ALL of America and not just his supporters. Just because he was elected, does not mean that all the ills of the world will be healed or everyone whose agenda never got any play will all of a sudden be heard and implemented. Times are too serious for him to play partisan or identity politics; I don't think that is likely given his personality and temperment.
The country must be realistics in its expectations and give him all of the support that can possibly be mustered because he will need it. WHOEVER was elected would need this support!
