USA did get the silver. Finland got the bronze medal yesterday.

I was confused for a minute too. The announcer said "they are getting the flowers and medals ready for the bronze medal winning team USA". I started Googling like crazy, trying to figure out what the deal was. It was a mistake on the announcer's part.

Ohhhh ok! I was looking at the metals and thinking they looked silver, too. Haha alright, so it's not just me!

That wouldn't be the first screw up that NBC did. In the Opening Ceremonies, they also said that the Montreal Summer Olympics was in 1967 (which was actually the WORLD'S FAIR). Montreal was in 1976. Olympics games are in even years, not odd numbered years.

Can you name something that NBC has done RIGHT lately?

NBC is a disgrace. Its coverage of the Olympics hit an all-time low with these games. That it interrupted its coverage of the closing ceremony tonight to pimp its new Jerry Seinfeld show was just the cherry on top of a crap-tastic sundae.
Unfortunately we will have to live with NBC again in London 2012, but I'm hoping that another network outbids them to host the 2014 Sochi games. NBC's coverage - the lack of coverage and the obsessive coverage of some athletes while ignoring others - is disrespectful to all of the athletes who work so hard to get there. The IOC should care who it is awarding broadcast licenses to and ensure that the awarded networks are doing their part to promote the games and its athletes.

What I found utterly annoying is the "let's go back and forth between sports". Seriously, if you are going to show like 4 things in one night, just go in order and stop skipping around.
I only watched the ice skating portions of the Olypmics but it was so annoying to fast foward through like 10 minutes to have 1 skater perform, then fast foward through another 10 minutes to have 1 more skater peform and then fast foward through like 30-45 minutes to have maybe 2-3 perform and I would finally get to see the rest of the skaters in the last like 45 minutes of the telecast (of the 4 hours I recorded). This is why I hate watching the Olympics.
Albeit, it was years ago, I remember the 94 Olympics and watching them with my family and they didn't do this crap of going back and forth. The night of the women's free skate it was on at like 7 and that is what they showed. They didn't keep interrupting the free skate to show curling, hockey or speed skating (etc...).
I understand that they have a lot of sports to cover, but seriously, people watch for certain sports.

I am all about the bus. It is worth it to walk to Homer Street (btw. West George and Dunsmuir) and catch the bus from the 'start of line' by the Main Post Office. That way, you are guaranteed to get on the bus and get a seat. They have tonnes of buses.

I think she broke everyone's. I hope she makes the podium.
*Does wanting Mao Asada to take gold make me un-American? I just think she got so robbed at the last Olympics (86 days too young, come on!).
*Kim Yu-Na made a comment about skating at "The Olympia." Can you not win first place of a competition you can't name?
*Nagasu's nosebleed was MOST unfortunate.
*Rachael Flatt's routine was so cute! I wish it had been cleaner, but she did great!
Can you tell this is the only sport I really bother watching?

Ditto.
I just watched it again on the NBC Olympics site and was in tears (again). Wow.
