I was really sorry to see Ryan go last night, because she is very talented!

But Simon was right, song selection is *key* to doing well on this show. Ryan is just not the 70s disco type of girl. She should have followed Nikki's lead and done some 70s rock...much more her strength. Ryan could have brought down the house if she had done something like "Because The Night (Belongs to Lovers)" (which most of you probably remember as a Natalie Merchant song, but is really a song written by Springsteen for Patti Smith! ;p)

And again, Justin picked the *wrong* song! He would have done much better with a different kind of ballad. I could totally see him doing something like "Your Song." He'd better shape up quickly!

As for RJ, fingernails on a blackboard. He just rubs me the wrong way.

Would it be silly to tell you that I was secretly hoping someone would dedicate a song to Simon and then belt out "You're So Vain"?

Although to be fair, I have quite the crush on Simon, he's such a snark!

Well, now Ryan's gone and she looked almost happy to be going. Wonder who'll be next? I doubt it will be RJ, because for some unexplainable reason he appeals to those who are into the whole 'boy-band'/teenybopper thing.

Maybe there will be another girl or two to go over the next few weeks, until there's just Justin, RJ, Tamyra and Kelly remaining. I still see it coming down to Kelly and Tamyra in the end.

Yeah, I was sorry to see Ryan go. I think she's got great charisma, presence, talent... not to mention style and beauty!!
Simon was right though, she lacks a musical identity. When asked what kind of singer she is she named every genre of music in this modern era. In the end, they've got to pick one or two.

Justin: I think he learned a valuable lesson this week. Mouth off to Simon and we'll all think you've gotten a little big for your britches but at least we'll respect you. Turn tail the next week and be an aplogetic little kiss ass and you won't even have that going for you.

Tamyra: Yeah she's beautiful, yeah she's talented. You know what, I just don't CARE about her. She hasn't captured my heart and imagination the way some of the others have. IMHO she just doesn't have that elusive "IT" quality that makes a real star.

Kelly: I used to think she didn't have that special star quality either just because I didn't know who she was up til the final rounds. However, she's really growing on me and I like her more and more every episode. I think she's grown a lot over this whole experience and could very well walk away with it.

Christina: She's gorgeous, she's a great singer and Simon has a crush on her. I vote her "girl most likely to lose the competion and still get a recording contract anyway."

R.J.: The boy bands are dying out and they're taking your career with them. Sorry.

Nikki: Next to go. Not that she's not talented as all heck. She's got great identity and stage presence. She still doesn't have a snowball chance in hell at winning.

Oh my gosh, I haven't seen but one person say this, and it wasn't even fully positive:

I thought Christina brought the house down Tuesday night!

With her singing once again one of my favorite songs (Ain't no Sunshine) I was floored. She looked SO good, better than ever, she was smoking in all aspects of performance. I now have a crush! LOL But what is it about her singing songs that were originally guy songs? the last 2 or 3 she's had to change she to he. Not that I mind, but I think it's interesting.

Justin is a TOOL, in my opinion. I haven't liked his last two songs, and he seems to have lost that fun quality that I originally liked in him (it's still there, from the picture shoot clip) Where is he picking these songs? I'm worried next week will be 80's week and he'll sing Whip it or something (most likely he'll sing something I've never heard of) AND I lost all respect with the kiss ass. I did not think it was sincere at all, and I wish Simon had called him on it.

And WHAT PLANET does Nikki come from? She's a rocker chick and she's never heard Heartbreaker by Pat Benetar?!!? WHATEVER! That must be why she tried to sing some parts EXACTLY with the same harsh voice as Pats (I should know--this is my Karaoke song)

And once again, I really liked Tamyra. I think she's going to win, just cause she HAS been so consistent.

Kelly is pulling in a strong performance. I like her alot too, but I don't think she's going to win, as of yet.

Hey did anyone recognize a performance order pattern? I haven't until this show, but I think they are performing in order, from lowest votes to highest. I'm not sure about highest, since they aren't revealing it, but the bottom ones are, or were this week at least.

And has anyone checked out the website? They have a play-by-play article that is HILARIOUS! I think the page is called show recaps?

Kelly looked gorgeous last night. Tamyra sang beautifully!!! These two are my faves. I also think Nicki kicks ass!!!!
The girls are kicking butt in this competition!!

It doesn't matter anymore because the next American Superstar, the ultra super beautiful babe with the sexy voice and the marketable look, Ms. Ryan Starr, was foolishly voted off by the 14 year old impressionable pre-pubescent NSYNC junkies.

I stopped watching already, but I'm still mourning the loss. Hmmm, I am an hour away from Sunland........and I am 19 too.....

but my votes continue to go to Kelly (KellyEEEEEEE!) Clarkson. Boy, she just looked gorgeous last night and sounded even better. It's just got to be between her and Tamyra, even if Simon won't give Kelly the respect with his comments that she deserves. Boo hiss on Simon for cracking on the piano player's shirt instead of respecting Kelly's amazing performance!

RJ, you may go back home now. Christina, you may join him. I sure hope Nikki sticks around a few more weeks because I do like her. I don't know what I think about Justin anymore...3 weeks ago I knew he was going to win and I still bet Simon's counting the hours until he CAN sign him, but enough already.

Or maybe just let Justin win and someone else sweep in and sign Kelly and Tamyra to nice contracts and not "American Idol" contracts.

Nah, I'm not just a little bit biased, am I?

Well, I think Kelly is the next best thing to Ryan in terms of contestants on the show.

I didn't watch last night (and waon't watch again), but I think Justin DOES have the look and the voice, I just know he's going to win simply for the look whcih isn't fair.

Spending a long time in music (albeit instrumental and choral in a classical setting but still SOME experience), I think Christina is completely tonedeaf and her vibrato is atrocious. I don't see how the judges think she can sing, but I can see where she has the appeal.

Tamyra was just wow. Damn what a voice, but I think we've seen too many pop stars like her.

Nikki is cool but I'm afraid she'll eventually go.

Why the hell is RJ stIll on the Show? Aaah! For A Guy who got lucky to be on the top 10 he pretty much did nothing to improve himself to contend with the big guys/girls on the show.

I thought EJ had the best voice out of the BOYS but of course America didn't see that and only saw the look.

Christina, who is hospitalized, was voted off. She found out the way that the rest of us did, by watching it on television. My heart goes out to her. I hope that she gets well soon.

Please, SOMEONE tell me how it is that RJ is STILL on this show, and Christina gets voted off!!! I know that she wasn't at her best yesterday, but even at her WORST she is so much better than he is!!! Who is voting for this guy? Is it pre-pubescent Mary-Kate and Ashley wannabe's who read Tiger Beat and 16 magazine and think that he's the next Justin (as in Timberlake)?

I think that he is more like the next Ricky Martin, for reasons that I had better not say!

...by the way, who thinks that he will be wearing those same tired assed jeans next week??? 'Cause you know that he would have worn them this past week if it wasn't Big Band music!
