Evan would be ironic for hippy parents because hippies like peace. If Evan means Young Warrior that would be completely not peaceful.

I am now hooked. I watched the marathon and then the premiere (thanks to my DVR) and I totally love this show now. A little risque IMO for ABC FAMILY but it's all good. And the TLC that showed up really was spot on - sorry to any other TLCs out there! The snapping cracked me up!!! The red cup logo bothers me a little bit (and did anyone else see the free gift of the GREEK logo and red cup on Facebook?) - but you do tend to see a lot of those floating around while in college so I can't say too much

I don't personally associate the red cup with drinking since my family tends to use them and reuse them since we're always on the go. Plus my dad does landscaping and we need disposable cups around. My baby sisters, my mom, my whole family, drink juice, we eat cereal, have soup, etc. out of those red solo cups. In college, I even covered an art display featuring several hundred of them filled with water for an assignment in the school paper. So for me, it's a very very weird symbol of "greekdom" a pitcher or a beer mug for me would make more sense.

sidenote: the episode where the Kappa Tau's and Omega Xi's play beer pong, does anyone else play pong with the paddles? i've never seen anyone play like that, we just aim to get the pong ball into the cup, kinda like darts?
lol guess you learn something new everyday. this show definitely makes me LOL and the storylines take these random turns, its hilarious. Cappy, Dale and Calvin are my favs - the one liners are great!

I've never played myself but I know that paddle vs no paddle is the major difference between Beer Pong and Beiruit.

Season 1 DVD came out last week. Is that the one you are talking about?

I got season 1 in the mail this morning. I can't wait to watch it, because I only got to see about half of the season. Are there any good sites to catch up on spoilers for Season 2? I can't watch it online

So I caught up on last season over the weekend - and DESPISE Rebecca and Franny!! Rusty is SO cute. Have a TV crush on Cappie. Casey and Ashleigh are great. Dale even has redeeming qualities! Definitely takes me back to college - and am planning on staying up to watch tonight even though I have to get up at 3am for work! One of the better shows out there.

As much as I love all the characters it kind of bugs that they all have the same accent but they're supposed to be from various places. Dale is supposed to be Southern and the actor is supposedly from Arkansas. Who could tell? I seem to recall seeing on the "Rush'd" website the Ashliegh is supposed to be from one of the Carolina's! And the actress that plays Frannie was a Miss University of Georgia. Which makes me wonder 1) Greek???? and 2) Where is Frannie supposed to be from?

I hope you mean, who could tell he would be southern?
Most of the real southerners that would have a rebel flag on their wall are either southern frat boy or really, really redneck. Plus, he has no accent.
I think the point is to make him look like he's from the Bible belt, but I think the rebel flag thing is unneccessary and pretty uncommon... the purity pledge thing is pretty close to true, and definitely something a small Bible study group would do. They need to have his Bible study praying for Calvin together or something...
Anyway, sorry, just bothers me when people stereotype southerners wrong, and this show is pretty "on" in other ways.

I only mean that he should have some type of Southern accent or at least be extra polite or something. I've lived in Maryland and Virginia, the two most Northern of the Southern states and people still had Southern accents and were extra polite. I just think that while they're playing to a bunch of the stereotypes they aren't doing two of the simplist things possible to make his character authentic.

I dunno, I'd say Dale is pretty polite... and not all southerners have thick southern accents, as evidenced by the girl who plays Frannie being from the Carolinas and not speaking with one... I myself was born in the south and raised all over before returning to South. I say y'all but I wouldn't say I have a strong Southern accent.
