Thumbs up

LXA Alpha Chapter still open at Boston U. 1909!

BX Alpha lasted 9 months and colonized into LXA 9 months later!

Damn I am good!

Unfortunatley the way schools and risk magaement and insurance is today we all have a problem!

Alfred U NY just banned Greek Orgs.

Denison U Oh just outlawed Houses for Greeks!

We need to do more to make the schoold realize that there is a need for us!

Alpha Delta Pi was founded at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia in 1851. That would be our alpha chapter did it still exist, but Wesleyan ended greek life on its campus, because the competition was getting to high.

At least that's what I learned any phi sig who knows a bit more may want to clarify...
Yeah, our Alpha Chapter was Hunter College in New York, NY. The reason why we had an Alpha Alpha Chapter was because the school divided into two. So we decided to have chapters at both schools. (One school was downtown, and the other one was uptown... I believe) Both are inactive. Our oldest Chapter is Delta at SUNY Buffalo, in Buffalo, NY.

Phi Sigma Kappa's alpha chapter is at The University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass., formerly Massachusett's Agricultural College in Amherst. They are still active and we have a beautiful house up there from what I'm told.

Phi Kappa Psi was founded at Washington and Jefferson College (Pennsylvania Alpha chapter) in Canonsburg, PA in 1852 (this is our 150 year anniversary!). Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) was also founded there-both chapters are still in existence...

Pi Kappa Alpha's Alpha Chapter is at the University of Virginia.
We were founded in Room 47 West Range on March 1, 1868. Our Alpha chapter is still very much active, along with more than 200 others!

Our oldest chapter (and the one members really view as our founding chapter anyway) is Zeta chapter at Drexel. They will be turning 50 this year on our Founders' Day.

Ranita,
Let's not get into that one! Good topic for our forum though Check it out at the private one!

It's too bad that both Alpha Delta Phi and Phi Mu (the two oldest women's fraternities) had their Alpha chapters disappear when Weslyan eliminated the greek system.

Interestingly enough, one of the founders of ADPhi was roommates with one of the founders of Phi Mu. The ADPhi girl started her society, and when the Phi Mu founder asked to join, she was denied. So she started her own.
