Amoxicillin smells like circus peanuts.

Amoxicillin means I have a sick child.

I do not like Amoxicillin or circus peanuts.

LOL! I guess it's a line-up (or a mosh pit). Anyway, it simply doesn't get any more disgusting than the photo posted on the Wiki. :P

And these fine bits of trivia from the Wiki to wit: (1)orange circus peanuts are banana flavored, (2) orange circus peanuts used to be orange-flavored but packaging that could preserve them was unavailable (uh, do we really want to go there) and (3) there are THREE manufactuers of them! THREE! I was having difficulty understanding how AGDee could single-handedly support one company, and now it seems that she supports three!

I'm just months from my last 40's birthday- I'm definitely not too young to like those candies! They are the candy of my child hood.

LOVE candy corn (but I prefer the autumn mix with the pumpkins and indian candy corn along with the regular candy corn). Must be from Brachs. All others are icky.

Really like Good n Plentys. And allsorts. And neccos, especially the licorice ones. Hey, my grandad was English, and he always had some sort of black licorice thing around-so the taste is dear to me. My kids think that black licorice anything is disgusting.

Also like mary janes and bit o honeys-but after I ripped out a filling eating one of those, they are now off the list permanently.

Circus Peanuts? Oh ick.

I always thought that the popcorn balls that people used to give out for Halloween (before the pins, poison and razor blade scares made parents throw out anything that wasn't hermetically sealed) were yucky also. Corn syrup and popcorn, some of it burned. Hey lady, did you wash your hands before you made those? Shudder. No thank you.

That's not old. I would usually get candy like that from people in their 70s. That's what I meant by "old people candy". But then again, I guess we're all as old as we feel.

Perhaps you are thinking of Fizzies, not Smarties? Fizzies are more sour than Smarties and have the same shape, but are Fall colors instead of Smarties Spring colors.

Neccos are only good for tossing into toll baskets on the highway.

Thank you! And a conveyor beltload to boot!

The Fizzies I remember from childhood were those awful 1960/70's tablets that you dropped in water to make a "carbonated" beverage ...

Hmmm. I have to commute on a tollroad. There should be enough Neccos rolling off that belt to eat and toss in the tollbasket and share with tinydancer.

Necco wafers are for playing "mass" or practicing for first communion.

Pass some of those Necco wafers my way, please!

Hmm, I guess you could use them for that. Although, when I was practicing for first communion, we used actual communion wafers that had not been blessed / transubstantiated during a Mass.

Anyway... the old Necco factory was on Mass. Ave. in Cambridge. You couldn't walk past the place without smelling sugar, sugar, sugar. They had a little store that operated very limited hours (they increased the hours for a couple of weeks before Valentine's Day each year) and you could buy pretty much any candy they made. Ah, memories
