Let the church say Amen.

There are animals that are herbivores, there are animals that are carnivores and there are animals that are omnivores. Our tooth and jaw structure was designed as omnivores.

PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals
Haha our news tonight reported that PETA told a prison that if they didn't serve meat for a year, they would give them a large freezer. The prison said no thanks, it'd be cheaper to just buy a freezer than buy a bunch of vegan food.

Perhaps going vegan in prison is the way to go. Ultimate punishment and imagine the smells coming from the toilets!

I wonder what would happen if they served a lot of soy and there were estrogen effects on a male population.

I'm really for gardens that prisons can utilize for therapy as well as food, but only if they aren't chain gang style. Having the ability to grow food and eat it, and retaining that knowledge for work or personal sustainability upon release. Seriously if they grew flowers or starter plants I'd buy them from a prison, and it could be interesting prison ministry for Buddhism or other religions that promote a vegetarian lifestyle and meditation/contemplation.

I hope when I leave Idaho I move somewhere else where hunting is common because I fear my lack of wild game (caught by someone I know) consumption will decrease to pathetic levels if I have to move back to San Francisco. My current fella not being a hunter is also an issue, I got used to eating tasty things hunted by my other half.

I have a lot of Russian friends who infuse their own vodka, black pepper, garlic, cinnamon, but never bacon - I'm going to request some bacon vodka!

Oh Wow...I leave for a day (I was driving from NY back to OH) and everyone is talking about cooking lobster...lol. Epchick, I died laughing when I read what you wrote about their screams of terror being drowned out by your screams of joy.

I'm glad that even though this thread is kinda' off the mark, at least everyone is talking.

For the record, Kevin has made me NOT want to eat meat anymore after asking me if I was vegan. Damn you Kevin! I think I might try more veggies. Now, I feel guilty.

Detroit. People actually take opening week off work to go hunting. Married women on weekends are known as "hunting widows".

I think that's a great idea.

You know I was thinking it'd be a good idea for Juvenile Detention centers, especially.
