I totally agree! I think the show has cooked right along without missing a beat since her role has been minimized. Her whiny, squinty, lispy voiced character has always been a flaw of the show imo.

Nah, I miss Meredith!
Do you think they are planning to get rid of the chief...? Seems like the writers are making him very un-likeable.

"Little Grey's Anatomy" just sound wrong.

That was my hunch. I hope we're wrong! I used to like him a lot.
Izzie was one of my favorites. She was the optimism in the sea of dark and twisty. But she is a whole other dimension of weird. I mean, really, who stays cheerful when she finds out she has cancer, laughs hysterically when her best friend dies, but goes off the deep end when she gets fired?

I like Meredith. I can do without Izzie.
I am one that thinks they may be getting ready to oust the chief.

I think the Chief could definitely be headed for some sort of write-out in the script soon. I do not miss Izzie, not at all. Nor do I care much for the new people, except Arizona. I love her, she's made of awesome.
If you read the Grey's writer's blog, they explain Meredith's lack of screen time. During the first part of the season, she was heavily pregnant, so they tried to minimize her on-time, on her feet scenes (considerate of them given she was 8 months pregnant). This week's episode is the first time we've seen her full body, and it's her first episode post-delivery.
The liver transplant was a nifty idea to write her out for a bit for the baby stuff, and I kind of wonder if that's the reason why Izzie's gone AWOL as well (in real life, she just finished adopting a baby girl from Korea). I'm a bit mystified though, as to why we haven't had any follow-up on that story arc yet. Meredith tells Thatcher I'll do this surgery for Lexie, and then maybe we can talk about rebuilding our screwy relationship, and then he promptly is not mentioned again. Bizarre.

As well as maternity leave after the adoption. She had double reasons.
LOL @ Arizona being "made of awesome." And I guess the whole Mer/Thatch thing being dropped made sense. They can't bring it back up if Mer's disappearance is being downplayed. Maybe they'll pick it up now that she's back?
I'm been lurking on spoiler sites and rumor has it Bailey's father is stopping by soon. That should be interesting. We've seen Mer and Lexie's parents, Burke's parents, Derek's mom, George's parents, Callie's dad, Cristina's mom....I guess Bailey is next in the rotation.

I agree. 45ish days in one episode? Come on.

Does anyone know what happened at the very end of the episode tonight?! My DVR cut off. It NEVER cuts off at the end of Grey's. Most of the time, it even leaves room for the previews for the following week.

The end of the Grey's episode or the end of the Private Practice episode? (since it was almost like one show this time..)

Mine did the same exact thing. How weird. Mine actually had a minute or two left on the recording but my TV screen went blank and it was although my DVR was frozen.

End of Greys: Meredith tells Derek about Cheif's issue.
End of Private Practice: Someone tells Addison that they are pregnant and it won't be ok.
Um, my shows are back!!
Can Eric Dane be any sexier??!!!
