I am Greek and probably have been Greek longer than you've been.
I know what "P-L-E-D-G-E" is. Back when it was still okay with the NPC to use the word pledge, 'pledge' was used as a verb and a noun. I know of pledging and pledges, but not of 'pledgees'.
There is rush and rushee. There is no pledge and pledgee. That just sounds stupid. It's pledge.
Why the heck would the person handling fraternity education be called the 'pledger'? They're not the ones pledging, they're already initiated.

Maybe I'm reading you wrong, but are you actually getting angry about someone using a word you've never heard?

You're reading me wrong.
Besides, there are other, more pressing issues to get angry over. This isn't one of em.

That's cool. Not trying to change how the NPC does things. By the way since you think you've been greek longer than me, when did you pledge?

That's private information, sorry. Unfortunately I don't like having that kind of information out there anymore because GCers like to throw my personal isht out there.
However, I take back that comment, and apologize for the condescending tone of my post.

Oh, no. No big deal. You're cool. I wasn't mad at you or anything. No need to apologize for anything. I understand about the personal stuff. It's cool. I pledged in 91.

Ah! I stand corrected, then. You're definitely older than I am (but not *THAT* much).

Yep, I am. My username is mementox.
I really like the communities brutal_honesty and alittleawkward. Brutal Honesty can get kind of disgusting and raunchy but it's interesting to see how f-ed up some people are.

A great book to read is called Wrongs of Passage. It lists thinks you couldn't even imagine! I also read a book, I forget the exact name of it, but it tells stories of WWII recruits and the bootcamp stuff they did, similair to fraternity hazing (without the drunk active creativity) and that hardships bring people together. I know for a fact that almost all southern chapters of any fraternity haze and I know it unites not only the pledge class, but each pledge to the active chapter because everbody goes through the same ordeals.
My favorite hazing story is on my friends dad told me about from the 60's called "Little Buddy". During his hell week the pledges were told to go and buy little squids (small enough to fit into a condom). They then had to put the squid into a condom, and onto their dick and wear it for a week. Pretty damn gross if you ask me, but damn funny.

If any of those guys DID use condoms in the past, they probably never will again.

I read Wrongs of Passage. Great book! Not surprised by anything in that book though.
