The two hour airing last night was two 1-hour epsiodes.
They picked up where the mini-series ended, and the overall quality of the mini-series was there in full force.
The SciFi Channel should be very proud with this series. Its very well done.
Also, they are introducing a religious flavor to the conflict that I find fascinating. The cylons (at least #6) are very religious, but not in a way that is admirable. This is juxtaposed with Baltor's aetheism which is also devoid of any recognizable morality. I don't know where they'll go with this, but I can't wait to find out.

Bump
This show is freaking amazing. I still can't get over how well done it is, especially for a cable channel series.

I tape it every Friday if we end up going out or just wait for the rerun on Monday night. Did you see last nights episode? I wonder what the Prez halucinations/prophesies will lead to....
and the whole Earth thing, I wish they gave more of a story on the whole myth etc.

I wish they gave more of a story on the whole myth ...
I think that will be developed more into detail as the story goes along. I really like how shows do that. It makes the story more exciting cause you never know what you are going to learn about the characters/plot from week to week.
Am i the only person who noticed that Boomer on Caprica had some reaction to peanut butter, humm a cylon food allergy???
I have said this in another thread, but i love starbuck as a girl. I think that she is really strong and i really like how, most of the people, respect her.
It is really nice to see that other people like this show. I have to say that this is one of my favorite shows, if not my most favorite. I really really love the series and try to get all my friends to watch it so that the series continues. i havent been taping it but i wish that i would have. i love to watch it again cause i always seem to miss something when i watch it the first time.
Oh and the whole Dr. Baltar and the cyclon in his head thing is kinda of cool, well, written well. I like how the cylon is using him and making him crazy. My roommate and i are still wondering exactly WHY people trust him so much. Maybe i did not get something that was explained and if someone whats to explain it to me i would love it.
BSG Rocks. I think that i need a support group. haha.

Ahh, how I love the new BSG. I agree with alpha alpha and others, I love Starbuck as a woman.
I missed the last two episodes because my roommate is psycho and canceled my season pass....hmm, let's see, she doesn't own the TiVo/TV or pay the bill....something is rotten in Denmark.
They aren't showing repeats now either, at least on my SCIFI channel! So I will just have to continue watching even though I have skipped some. Drat!

I guess I am resistent to change. I will always be a fan of the old BSG. I tried to watch the new one a couple of months ago and the first seen I saw was a a sex seen. I don't remember that kind of stuff in the old one but I was only 7. I had a huge crush on SBuck and now he is a she??? I lost interest in about 5 minutes.

The sex scene, in my opinion, was needed, although they could have toned it down a bit. In the old BSG, Baltor was more of a cartoon of a villain, than a credible villain. In the new BSG, we learn how he betrays humanity; by thinking between his legs. It makes the notion that a complete genius can be duped credible.

2nd Season
Okay, so i was in line at the grocery store and say on the TV Guide cover that there is a 2nd season. I didn't know if anyone else knew this, so i had to share. YEAH!!!
I was kinda of glad when i heard this cause on friday after BSG was over the commercials said something about the final 2 hours and i was not sure if they meant it was canceled and there are only 2 hours and its over or 2 hours until the season finally.
Glad to hear its only the end of the season and there will be another season, Yippy.

Season Finale
It was freaking amazing. Destroying the Cylon mother ship reminded me of Independence Day, but it was well done.
It ended with a Who Shot JR?, except that we know who shot him. That was a twist that I did not see coming.
I can't wait for the second season, which should debut in July.

When Commander Adama learns that Kara disobeyed orders and Jumped to Caprica on orders from President Roslin, he demands the president's resignation, with the implied threat of a military coup. Roslin refuses his demand and sparks a confrontation.
As civil war simmers in the fleet, the conflict on Caprica heats up. Kara completes her mission for Laura: She finds the Arrow of Apollo that, according to prophecy, will lead the fleet to Earth. No sooner does she pick it up, however, than she is thrust into a battle to the death with Number Six.
Meanwhile, Adama sends Sharon and Racetrack in a Raptor equipped with a Cylon transponder, to fire a nuclear warhead that will destroy the basestar. But when the missile release jams, Sharon lands the Raptor deep inside the basestar, to deliver the warhead manually.
Once outside her ship, however, Sharon is greeted by dozens of Sharon avatars, all Cylons like her, welcoming her home. She retreats, but is told that she and her fellow Cylons will meet again. She and Racetrack escape the basestar, which explodes.
Mission accomplished, Sharon returns home to the Galactica. She warmly accepts Commander Adama's thanks and praise for a job well done — then she coldly shoots him, point-blank, in the chest.
from the scifi.com site. im sure they will be replaying over and over again until July

The Farm
Friday night's episode might be the best one yet. After we were given insight into Starbuck's childhood, the plot twist in the hospital totally blew my mind.
Not to mention that the President is reluctantly attempting to save the democracy by potentially turning to theocracy.
Really well written.

ok, so this thread has been dead for a while, so I thought I'd resurrect it....
I have become TOTALLY addicted to the new BSG! Last week's eppy, where Cain finally gets what she deserves...well, I just think that was one of the finest eppys of any sci-fi show written in a long time.
I also am impressed on a weekly basis by the acting of Tricia Helfer (sp?) and Grace Park. Their abilities to portray different 'characters' is just amazing.
I was a bit skeptical of Starbuck being made a female character - but I don't think it's been a bad move, considering how the plot and character development has come along. Kara Thrace may be female, but she's got bigger balls that some of the male characters! (Gaeta's a wimp, imho)
C'mon....I know you're out there...where are my BSG folks??

She so is. She's the only woman I'd ever sleep with.
I named my dog Boomer, after her.
