Good list Opi but I disagree with one thing...the TTC. It sucks!!! I hate it. I ride it everyday to and from work. it's always late, most of the employees are rude and it's far to expesive (although not as expensive as Ottawa). That's why the TTC stands for Take The Car.

gee, there are so many posts i agree and disagree with hard to come up with my own....

the good:
- heritage minutes (i actually bought the video with them all on it)
- mary walsh
- rick mercer
- this hour has 22 minutes
- the show "play" and its host Jian Ghomeshi (sp?)
- Bif Naked (although not born canadian - but that's ok)
- Great Big Sea, the tragically hip and so many other gosh darn good canadian musicians
- the quebecois - they make life interesting
- oh and yeah, i actually like Celine Dion, i have 2 french albums and 4 english
- oh and almost forgot : Poutine!!

The bad:
- graduated licensing in Ontario
- the 401: it's a death trap
- anti-americanism that is only based on an inferiority complex (if ppl actually have a reason for their dislike, fine, but if not it's just BS)
- the alliance
- viarail

The Ugly:
- those "massage" parlours dowtown - yeah like someone really needs to get a masage at 3 in the morning!!!!
- horrible tv shows like Train 48

that's all i can think of!

^ lol partly, because I lived in that area majority of my life....why do you hate T.O.?

Lady Pi Phi,

I'm sorry, did things change the 2 years I was gone..I'm so to hear that. The only reason I appreciate the TTC is when you come down to detroit....you WILL miss it..(i.e. conditions of the bus system here is disgusting).

It's awful. The drivers are rude, everything is ALWAYS late. There are so many complaints about the TTC (you should read the Metro in the morning) nothing but bitching about the TTC - and it's all true. I don't drive so I need but it's still bad. And if I did drive I'd still probably use it to get to work because it's a bitch to park downtown.

Kitso... you just failed your infiltration exercise into the Great White North... like the Scots, Canadians insist that whiskey is NOT spelled with an 'e' ('whisky') Only us uncivilized barbarians in the USA and Ireland would add the 'e' to the ancient 'water of life'.

<-- not a Canadian, but does know the difference between 'whisky' and 'whiskey'... -hic-

P.S. The old FB-111 would have made a great nuclear bomber, if we ever went to war against Canada!

As well in Canada it is not 'Canadian Whisky' it's 'Rye'. It's Only Canadian Whisky if you are not Canadian.

Well,

According to the 2 Crown bottles i have staring back at me from my computer desk its is "Crown Royal Blended Canadian Whisky".

No mention of Rye anywheres, maybe you need to set them straight TKE.

And yes chuck, you're right, i spelled it wrong. But, in going so far as to pay tribute to a Canadian liquor, i retain the right to spell it as it would be spelled in Texas.

Kitso
KS 361 times i don't take responsibility for what i'm typing if it doesn't make sense, i've had about a litre of Blended Canadian WHISKY

Bumpity Bump

The Good

Multiculturalism

Universal Health Care

Snow

Real, Authentic Chinese food (wait, that's Toronto and Vancouver)
Kids' TV Shows from the old days (i.e. before the 90s. Gotta love Mr. Dressup, Polka Dot Door, Today's Special, etc, etc)

The Bad

The fact that we're kinda liberal in a sense (i.e. the pot bill. I'm ok with the gay marriage thing though (as long as churches and other places of worship aren't forced to marry gay couples) HELLO??!!!) Also, I kind of agree with the lack of censorship on our TV shows. I think certain things that air on CITY-TV, even after 9 or 10 pm actually belong on cable. Most cuss words don't belong on TV either (I really don't understand why a regular broadcast channel would air The Osbournes or The Sopranos. If you don't have cable, too bad)

Multiculturalism (some people are known to take it too seriously and decide not to learn English and/or French.)

Universal Health Care (waits are much, much too long!)

The Ugly

Celine Dion
