Lost, I don't know if your org has something like this..AGD has SIS (Sisters Income Supplement) which can help with medical bills and other needs. Perhaps this is something you could look into.

Good news
Hubby got a raise and will be sending the full payment out to HQ in the next couple of days. (I'm out of town on business or I would do it myself just for the pleasure of getting it done.)
With our new and improved financial management skills and increased income, the light at the end of the tunnel doesn't look like a train any more.
Thanks again for all your suggestions and support.
BTW...in taking a closer look at some of the medical bills I received, I found that some were duplicates and some were insurance statements, not bills. Whew! We really had to go over them carefully though. We would have paid them but it just seemed like there were too many asking for too much all at the same time so it raised a red flag. The insurance statements look just like an invoice except in tiny print in the middle of the page it says "This is not a bill." Rather sneaky if you ask me. Beware!

Lost, I am so glad to hear that everything is squared away with you.
I hate how insurance companies are sneaky like that - you're about to go mail them some huge check and then you notice that little print.

That is good news. Glad your cancer tests came back negative, and your finances are shaping up... and congrats to hubby on his raise!

Grrr.. I hate that! I had an accident in October and the insurance company took so long to take care of things that the hospital started nagging ME about payment. The insurance company made up some crap about never getting a claim, and the hospital claimed they kept sending them notices. Insurance companies like to get away with whatever they can.

I know it's not related but I hate when the utility has the amt-you-would-owe if you didn't pay on time, ABOVE the amount would owe if you pay on time...guess they figure the odds are you'll over pay. Even it is credited next month, it's an obnoxious practice.
Oh...and AAA making the final total due as if you want to take the medical rider...
And now back to this thread, lol!

Lost,
I'm glad to hear your cancer-free and things have improved in the homefront and that the GLO bill will be taken care of shortly.
If you haven't already look into any emergency funds that your GLO may have for hardship cases....BSP has a couple of plans available.
