I agree. Or dresses! Unless
1. You are getting married (I got married in December)
2. You have to wear it for sorority ritual (I think some groups wear white for some events)
3. You are a nurse!

Another exception: My New Balance cross trainers are white. I will wear those to workout

I mentioned the no white shoes rule to my in-laws (who are Canadian) they looked at me like I lost my ever-loving mind!

first day of classes and no one is following the "rules," as many girls are still wearing white shoes, skirts, and the like. it IS the first day after labor day, so maybe they havent shaken it out theire system.

now that i think of it, i dont see too much of a problem. hoestly i dont wear a lot of white, aside frm sneakers or t-shirts. I own one white skirt, and wore it once this summer.

OTOH, dont celebrities wear white all year round? Are they that removed from the social laws of fashion that they can just wear white pants and get away with it?

I believe that there really aren't an fashion rules as it relates to color. If you watch What Not To Wear (which I watch religiously), they always dress people in white. I think white can be worn anytime of the year.

I LOVE What Not to Wear, but sometimes they go off the deep end. IE telling women to abandon all square toed shoes for pointy shoes. Some pointy shoes are cool, but if you wear them everyday, you'll have a rich podiatrist. The same applies to white. They may encourage someone to wear white, and let them wear it year round, to get them out of those ratty sweats w/ a hole in them and paint spots on the legs.

I'm tripping that freakin' Banana Republic is selling WHITE PATENT LEATHER handbags for the fall/winter season. Once they get below $98, because I don't pay full price for stuh, I may buy one to carry starting on the first day of spring.

Yeah, I agree...there are some things that they show that I'm not feelin' too much. But for the most part, I dig everything. Did you watch that marathon this past weekend?

People wear boots year round. I don't think there's anything with you wearing them now.

Who made up this rule??

If you had sex before marriage, then why care if you wear white after Labor Day? Should you listen to God or some unknown fashion lawmaker?

Um, so I wear white whenever.....

My grandma warned about white/Labor Day........We don't discuss adult relations amongst family members............... So, I listen to Gran, but only on the topics where she had an opinion.

Oh, and I did watch a big chunk of the WNTW marathon, b/c I was stuck on the phone with tech support. OHY!!!!!! What ever happened to the guy they had the first season, with the terrible hair??????
