I've heard that. I also remember hearing during Psych class that, if you were only going to buy one toy a year for your child, an interesting mobile is the best "brain builder".

So, I think I've decided on the Garden Delight, it's not completely babyfied, it goes with the current wall color, and it doesn't look like a bottle of Pepto exploded.

Ugh - now to find a crib.

The one I got for my daughter started as a crib with an attached changing table that has drawers and shelves under it. Now that she's older, we took one of the side rails off and it's now a daybed. Later, it even converts into a full size bed. It's still got the changing table attached, but the top converted into a regular top, so it's now a dresser/nightstand type thing. I actually found this at Walmart for around $125, and it's been great and held up well. I can't remember what brand it is, but it's the same brand they sell at Babys-R-Us and other major baby stores, so it's not like it matters that it came from Walmart.

Congrats on your pregnancy! I'm partial to sugar plum...I like lavender

Also my sister-in-law (to be ) uses the sugar plum design in her daughter's room and it's really cute. I like the butterfly details it works for little girls.

Just make sure you buy the converter kit at the same time. My brother and sister-in-law didn't realize that when they registered for their set at Toys R Us. Now they are stuck with a crib that could have been a bed.
