Where is Caylee Anthony?

Why do I get the feeling that if Casey Anthony hasn't already done it, she's gonna be pleading "mental insanity?"

Poor lil Caylee deserves justice, and I don't think she's gonna get it. I'm hoping that i'm wrong.

This isn't a nationally newsworthy story.

I can't for the life of me understand why some folks want to follow the minutia of nothing faux-stories like this one (which in reality play out thousands of times every year across the nation).

It's because the mom is a cute, white young thang and her daughter is even cuter. Same goes for Natalee H., Laci Peterson, and Stacy Peterson. All young, cute and white, and really nothing incredibly noteworthy of their stories.

It shouldn't make any difference when a female is killed or disappears whether she's attractive or not, but it does. It triggers an emotional response in people, making them think, "She's so cute and looks so sweet! Who would ever want to hurt her? We've got to find her and find the guy that hurt her!" It's ALL that Nancy Grace covers!

To be honest, I've watched maybe 2 shows? Commercials about Nancy Grace annoy me. Commercials with Paula Dean annoy me. When she's on programs on CNN that I actually like, she annoys me. When Paula Dean's on Iron Chef America, she annoys me.

I don't have to watch the show to know that half of what she puts forth is sensationalism, and the other half is not substantial news anyway. I feel like I get more newsworthy analysis from Law & Order.

ETA: I know I haven't watched anything on her show about the Caylee Anthony stuff - but I did notice an ad for her show on the linked website about the child's body.

What Grace does is effing sick. What she's essentially doing here is helping her bosses cash in on the death of a three year old. I hope I'm not the only person out there who has a huge problem with this.

It's fine to tell us about it when she goes missing -- we may be of help finding her or providing the police with information. At this point though? It's just cynical cashing in.

Fixed your post. This was a child, not an "it".

There are hundreds of children who disappear each year, of all races. What I find particularly despicable about this particular mother is that she partied while her "missing" child was rotting into a skeleton and seems to be morally bankrupt - whether she murdered her daughter or not.

Again... so what? How is this story more important than the hundreds/thousands of other stories exactly like it where the parents went on partying/doing drugs after killing the kids, locking them in cages, starving them to death, sexually abusing them, etc.?

The news networks are selling ads with this story. Folks who think this is important stuff help them do that.

I'm not sure what's more deplorable -- being the actual killer here (if there is one, unlike what Nancy Grace would have you believe, there's not even enough evidence here for a prosecutor to want to try the case [the night is young though]), or cashing in on the drama, which is what Nancy Grace, etc. are doing.

So if she'd simply murdered her child then quietly contemplated her own actions, she wouldn't be morally bankrupt?

Our outrage is visceral and rooted in some sort of primal brain we don't fully understand - let's just admit that it's illogical and move on. You find this case particularly despicable because (at least in part) you were told it was despicable by retards on television.

As far as an indicator of societal defect, Nancy Grace reveals much more about any real or perceived seedy underbelly of modern America than any number of murders that have been committed.
