RainMan-isn't the independent Black filmmaker criticism a bit harsh?
If you have seen the ones I had, NO!

In short, if the moral to the story is strong and the other movie aspects are weak, then the movie would hold it's own in that regard, otherwise, everything about it is bad. Don't worry, I've seen independent mainstream movies and have said the same thing about them.

Battlefield Earth. Worst movie ever. How does a 2000 years old F-18 still function perfectly? How do those people learned in exact formation only after 2 days of practice in a simulator. What do you expect from L. Ron Hubbard, the man who created a corporate religion. I guess since we have two corporate political parties, we need a corporate religion

Dracula 2000. I know that's pretty recent, so I won't give the ending away, but it was real let down. The plot was never entirely explained anyway. Not too much character devolopement but the acting was pretty solid. The good actors just didn't have enough lines. But The main reson its bad-this isn't the surprise ending-Dracula dies. Forever. Like, there will be no more movies ever. He's always supposed to escape into a cloud of mist, or twitch before the lights go out...but no. He's dead forever. That is just plain wrong!!!!

Add "Dude Where's My Car?" to the list. I thought it was just me, but even my BF hated it, and he's usually into stupid films like that.

LOL Soror6, yes I am out of town! I told the BF that I'd stay away from the PC while we're in Torrance, but I've been secretly online while he's in the shower. I made his father promise to not tell! So far I've been limited to just reading and not posting so he can't hear the sound of the keyboard-the clicking of the mouse is much softer!

The trip's going great so far and his parents are fabulous. His friends so amazing and fun to be with--it seems like I've known them forever instead of 9 hours!

Without a doubt, the very worst movie I've seen in a long time is CASTAWAY. I know everyone thinks it is this profound movie, but... Here's the plot - guy crashed in an airplane and plays Survivor on a tropical island with a volleyball (named Wilson) and when he finally gets back to the real world !!shock!! he finds out that the world continued to function without him and he can't understand it. I thought the movie was such a let down. It wasn't even entertaining to the point that I could laugh at the actor making fools of themselves. I wished I had gone to see something - ANYTHING - else.

Oh, I almost forgot, the undeniably WORST movie I have ever seen was a flick called: Hamburger: The Movie. Oh, it was AWFUL. About a guy named Russell (Leigh McCloskey) who got expelled from every university due to lewd conduct, so in order to get a family inheritance, he attends Busterburger University, where you literally major in fast food. Dick Butkus is this drill sergeant, spatula totin' whatever. From there, the movie insults and degrades women, overweight people, Black people, Hispanic people, police officers, etc. It blasphemes the Lord (at chapel, the choir sings "Glory Busterburgerlujah"), etc, etc. It came out in 1986, so it's not that old. But as one reviewer said, "Put this one on the back burner". I first saw this in 9th grade and actually thought this movie was funny. How sad.

MOVIES THAT SUCKED
1. Have Plenty
2. Bowfinger
3. PULP FICTION (I paid $1 to see it and I still feel cheated)
4. 3 Strikes
5. HOUSE PARTY 4 (came on USA in November, a reject version of FERRIS BUELLER's DAY OFF)

I liked HOW STELLA GOT HER GROOVE BACK, pretty amazing that a 300 page sentence can become a movie with substance.

2) The Bachelor
3)Two Guys and A Girl : It was obvious RDJr was high!

I'm sure there are more, but these were the MOST painful!

Sorry to bring this up, but I just saw a movie that was even more horrible then Battlefield Earth. That movie is Replicant. You just have to hear three words to realize its bad: Jean Claude Van Damme. Oh, that's four word. I'm gonna cry for wasting one hour and a half of my life.

I felt the same way, Heidi! That movie was a waste of both time and money. My eyes were wide shut during most of it, and my boyfriend fell asleep completely.
