People--of all levels of fame, we see it here on GC all the time--love to put their kids and their parenting skills on a pedestal. The danger in this is that kids do what they want to do, and in most cases the parents end up looking like tools when their kid fouls up.
Tipper really was high and mighty over the PMRC thing, and I've noticed that the higher and mightier you are over your parenting or how great your kids are, your fall ends up being farther and messier than if you had just stayed quiet.
