Al Gore's Son arrested for speeding and drugs
1) Who the heck speeds with a Prius?
2) Normally I'm against any drug arrest, especially for pharmas, but that's one heck of a goody bag Al had with him. 3) Why isn't the dad bailing him out? I felt bad for him until I saw the Roman Numeral at the end of his name and then I was like "ef him". http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/04/wa...5cnd-gore.html Al Gore III, 24, was driving a blue Toyota Prius about 100 miles an hour on the San Diego Freeway near the Crown Valley exit in Laguna Hills when he was pulled over by an Orange County sheriff’s deputy at about 2:15 this morning, a sheriff’s department spokesman, Jim Amormino, said. The deputy smelled marijuana and searched the car, Mr. Amormino said. In the search, the deputy found less than an ounce of marijuana and a clutch of prescription pills that included the narcotic Vicodin, addictive sleep and anxiety aids Valium, Xanax and Soma, and the amphetamine Adderall, which is approved to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder but is also a powerful stimulant. -Rudey |

Jeez speeding...both ways apparently.
|
Al Gore has a son?
|
A Prius can go that fast?
|
The fact that he was speeding in a Prius is the part that cracks me up. Are we sure this isn't Onion-generated?
|
When I saw this on the news ticker this morning, I only caught the end of it, which cut off the "son of former Vice President" part and just started at "Al Gore was caught ..."
|
I'm amazed he could go that fast on the 405 in L.A./Orange County...even at 2 am!

When you look at the history Al Gore III has had with drugs, DUI, and arrests, it seems extra perplexing to me.
The common thread seems to be marijuana, which I don't think of as being so addictive that it compromises judgment so much overall to explain his issues. If the common drug were cocaine, heroin, meth, or maybe even some of the pharmacy he had with him this time, I kind of take for granted that the addiction would have just taken over and it would explain why he couldn't learn from his mistakes. But once you had been kicked out of school or arrested for pot, wouldn't you figure out you might need to quit it? |

OOPs guess He thought better living through drugs and they gave him a face car driver edge!
I am sure Al adn Tipper love that little trip he was on!:D |
Poor Tipper -- I bet the child listened to too much nasty rock music growing up.

i think Daddy Gore has an interview tonight (or maybe last night?) with someone on TV that was pre-planned...i am willing to put money on the first question out of the reporters mouth...

If only she'd been more successful in her attempts. . . I wonder how old you have to be to get your joke without wikipedia. ETA: I'm plenty old enough not to need it. |
I wouldn't be too judgmental of the parents. I know lots of people who have had every chance in the world but screwed their lives up due to addiction.
No amount of good parenting can overcome addiction. This is Gore's son's case and it's not fair to make it anyone else's. Hopefully, father sends this kid off to a hardcore rehab center (or cuts him off entirely). |
